Teeth in a Day

What are All-On-4 Implants?

All-On-4 dental implants, often referred to as "Teeth in a Day," offer a revolutionary solution for individuals with missing teeth or severe dental issues. This innovative procedure involves strategically placing four to six dental implants in the jawbone to support a full set of replacement teeth. The result is a beautiful, functional, and long-lasting smile.

Key Benefits of All-On-4 Implants:

  • Natural Appearance: The replacement teeth are designed to closely resemble natural teeth in terms of color, shape, and texture.
  • Enhanced Function: All-On-4 implants provide excellent chewing and biting capabilities, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of foods.
  • Improved Speech: The implants help restore clear and confident speech.
  • Boosted Self-Confidence: A beautiful, healthy smile can significantly boost your self-esteem.
  • Durability: All-On-4 implants are highly durable and can last for many years with proper care.
  • Convenience: Unlike traditional dentures, All-On-4 implants are fixed in place, eliminating the need for messy adhesives or removal.

The All-On-4 Procedure:

  • Consultation: During your initial consultation, your dentist will assess your oral health and determine if you are a suitable candidate for All-On-4 implants.
  • Implant Placement: Your dentist will surgically place four to six dental implants into your jawbone.
  • Temporary Teeth: Immediately after implant placement, you will receive a temporary set of teeth to wear while your implants heal.
  • Healing Period: The healing process typically takes several months. During this time, the implants fuse with your jawbone, a process known as osseointegration.
  • Permanent Teeth: Once the implants have fully healed, your dentist will attach a permanent set of custom-made teeth to the implants.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

The typical procedure for implant surgery takes 4-6 hours, depending on whether one or both arches are being treated. After the procedure, you'll leave with temporary bridges securely attached to your new implants. These bridges will be worn for 4 months to allow for bone integration and gum healing, ensuring a precise fit for your final bridges. Following this healing period, we'll start fabricating your permanent bridges over a 5-6 week period. During this time, you'll actively participate in designing your desired smile.

1

Mouth Impressions

The dental lab will use mouth impressions to create your temporary implant bridge(s). If you're missing most or all of your teeth in the treated arch, your dentist might suggest a wax try-in. This is a preliminary model of your temporary bridge, used to verify bite position, aesthetics, and other factors.

2

Procedure

The procedure involves the removal of any remaining teeth (if necessary), placement of dental implants, and the attachment of temporary implant bridges. This process usually takes 4-7 hours to complete.

3

Post Op #1

Day After Surgery we will check your healing progress and answer any questions you may have.

4

Post Op #2

Three weeks post-surgery sutures will be removed, healing will be assessed, and you will typically be cleared to start using a water flosser or WaterPik at this appointment.

5

Impressions for Final Teeth

Four months post-surgery impressions will be taken to create your final, permanent teeth.

6

Try In

5-10 days after taking impressions, you'll have a try-in appointment to assess a mock-up of your final teeth. Multiple try-ins may be necessary to ensure you're completely satisfied with the aesthetics and fit. It's crucial to approve the wax try-in before proceeding, as any changes after fabrication will incur additional costs.

7

Seat Final Teeth

Once you've approved the wax try-in(s), it usually takes 4-6 weeks for your final bridge(s) to be completed and ready for placement.

Caring for Your Invisalign Aligners

You can certainly eat with your new teeth right away! While your implants and teeth are securely placed from day one, it's important to maintain a soft diet for the first four months to ensure optimal healing. This means sticking to foods that you can easily cut with a plastic fork. By following this guideline, you'll be investing in the long-term health and durability of your implants, allowing them to integrate seamlessly into your bone structure.
